| Fire Service Leadership is
an important part of today's fire service. So much more is expected out of
today's fire service managers that sometimes tradition bounds them to simple
mistakes. Now is the time for today's firefighters to take a larger role in
leading their department. Leaders come in formal shapes and sizes and
informal shapes and sizes. This class--while helping fire officers--is
designed for all fire service personnel. While a person may not currently
aspire to be an officer, that feeling may change with time, plus not all
officers are leaders. A firefighter may become a leader within the
department without ever being an officer. Plus, this class will also teach
how subordinates can help their leaders become more effective. One warning: Egos and rank must be left at the door. There are ideas and concepts held within this class that may shatter some traditional ways of thinking. |
